NRP 61 has the following goals. It will serve:
- Development of scientific foundations, methods, and strategies as well as initiation of solutions for future challenges in the area of use of water resources;
- Investigation of the effects of climate and social changes on water resources;
- Examination of risk management and user conflicts from a comprehensive perspective;
- Development of efficient and sustainable water resources management systems.
