Günter Blöschl receives Horton medal

Hydrology's "Nobel prize" was awarded to Professor Günter Blöschl in mid December 2015. Günter Blöschl was a member of the Steering Committee of the concluded National Research Programme "Sustainable water management".

​Every year the American Geophysical Union awards the Robert E. Horton medal - it is considered the highest prize in hydrology. On 16 December 2015, Günter Blöschl professor at the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management at TU Vienna was presented the Horton medal 2015. 

As a member of the Steering Committee he helped to shape the outcomes of the National Research Programme "Sustainable water management" (NRP 61) and he made important contributions in the synthesis process.

We would like to congratulate Günter Blöschl on winning this honour.
